MAIZBHANDARI MOROMI GOSHTI

Foreword

Music is the part and parcel of Maizbhandari Tarika. A quite new style of music evolved centering round Hazrat Gausul Azam Shah Sufi Maolana Syed Ahmed Ullah Maizbhandari (Ka:), the preacher of this Tarika. This style of music was found in the beginning of the 20th century. It created a new trend in the realm of Bengali music. The themes of these songs were praising the great creator, the secrecy of creation, preaching Maizbhandari Tarika loving the respective Murshid etc. “Maizbhandari music not only enchants our soul with heavenly melody but also purifies our soul with sanctity”.  ..............

MAIZBHANDAR SHARIF: AN EMBLEM OF HUMAN REGALEMENT

Maizbhandar – a place of pilgrimage for the millions of people, irrespective of their religion, race, cast and status is situated at a distance of 38 km north of Chittagong in Bangladesh. Once being considered as a remote village; Maizbhandar has now been turned into a sacred place, signaling a crystalline message in order to build a contended world, following the veritable principles of universal humanity. Hence the countless devotees call the place Maizbhandar, as "Maizbhandar Sharif". The literal meaning of the word "Maizbhandar", among others, stands for "treasury of valuables", and "place for shelter" and the word "Sharif" means "sacred". Indeed, in the today’s world, which is girdled by abrasion and conflicts; people can attain peace and contentment by following the doctrines of Maizbhandari teachings. The place is known for installing a famous Sufi School of thought – "Tarika-e-Maizbhandari" (Maizbhandhari Philosophy), based on the teachings of Quran and Sunnah [teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (SM)] together with a despotic emphasis on human welfare. Maizbhandar Sharif was first blessed by the birth of an exalted saint holding the enormous spiritual power and titanic human virtues. This saint – Hazrat Gausul Azam Maizbhandari Shah Sufi Moulana Syed Ahmed Ullah, who is popularly known as "Hazrat Kebla Kaba" was born on 15th January, 1826; corresponding to 1st Magh of 1313 Bengali Calendar Year. Righteously, Hazrat Kebla Kaba was the founder of Maizbhandari Philosophy. According to the principles outlined in the Quran and Sunnah he blessed numerous people with his outstanding spiritual ability and showed the path of Allah. One of those triumphant personalities was his nephew – Hazrat Shah Sufi Maulana Syed Golamur Rahman, who is popularly known as "Baba Bhandari". Hazrat Kebla Kaba installed Hazrat Shah Sufi Maulana Syed Golamur Rahman as his principal Khalifa (representative) to carry on the torch of Maizbhandari Philosophy. Over the years, there have been many personalities who are being bestowed to carry out this illustrious task of guiding people through the teachings of Maizbhandari Philosophy. Among those, the names of Hazrat Shah Sufi Syed Delwar Hossain Maizbhandari (popularly known as Ochi-E-Gausul Azam), and Shahanshah Syed Ziaul Huq Maizbhandari are worth mentioning. Countless devotees respectfully recognise Syed Ziaul Huq Maizbhandari as Shahanshah.
